A Red Line Mastery index review is different from a sales page. We do not repeat the marketing copy; we read the files. That means lesson names exactly as they appear in the folders, runtimes taken from the official lesson list and added up by chapter, sizes from the file index, and quotes checked against the transcripts of all 131 videos. If you just want the course, it is on the Red Line Mastery product page.
The concept
What Is a Red Line in Poker?
Red line poker starts with three lines, one graph and the leak most regs never look at.
Blue line: showdown winnings
Money won in pots that go to showdown. Nits and “board matchers” live here.
Red line: non-showdown winnings
Money won or lost in pots that end before showdown: your bluffs, your folds, your fights for dead money.
Green line: total winnings
Blue plus red. Your real win rate. A losing red line forces the blue line to carry everything.
Purple line: the target
thejericho2’s name for a graph where blue and red both win, which is the closest thing to how a solver plays.
“So it’s basically 50% of your winnings.”
— thejericho2, lesson 1.1 Why Is Having a Winning Red Line Important?
In the opening lesson the coach makes two claims that frame everything after. First, around 90% of regular online players (regs, not recreational players) run a losing red line. Second, that is fine up to a point: in lesson 1.3 he explains that a showdown-heavy style can earn a solid win rate through 25NL, 50NL, 100NL and 200NL, but it stops working at 500NL, 1kNL and 2kNL, where opponents play back and the meta keeps evolving.
Lesson 1.3 also takes on mass data analysis (MDA). The coach accepts that MDA players often have a strong red line, but argues that population exploits built on large hand samples have a shelf life of about 200NL, sometimes 500NL, because the pools above that are smaller and the players adapt. If you want the other side of that debate, read our guide to MDA and HUD exploits and our breakdown of GTO vs exploitative poker.
EPG editor’s take
The “purple line” framing is what separates this course from most red line material. Saulo Costa and Robmaf treat the red line as a by-product of exploits; thejericho2 treats a winning red line as a skill you build with GTO-based aggression and, just as importantly, with calls. That is why a whole chapter, and half of the river chapter, is about calling.

Four chapters carry the course: Aggression (11h 29m), Live Plays (9h 52m), River Play (9h 36m) and Blind vs Blind (9h 11m). Together they hold 40h 09m, about 72% of the total runtime. The average lesson runs 26 minutes. The shortest is 2.2 Why Calling Matters Just As Much (5:01); the longest is 7.3.2 Turn and River as the BB in BvB 3-Bet Pots (1:18:38), followed by 6.7.4 Calling River Raises (1:01:34).
Two smaller details matter if English is not your first language: 16 lessons in the Aggression and Calling chapters ship with VTT subtitle files, marked CC in the full index below. And the river chapter alone is longer than many complete courses, which tells you where the coach thinks red line money is won and lost.

6 Lessons to Watch First
Short on time? These six videos give you the spine of the course.
01
Lesson 1.1 · 9:42
Why Is Having a Winning Red Line Important?
The thesis of the course, the purple line goal and a tour of all 14 chapters. Watch it to decide whether the style fits you.
02
Lesson 2.3 · 11:50
Does Red-Lining Equal Higher Variance?
The first “story time”: how a heavy blue line game made the coach’s graph swing harder, not softer.
03
Lesson 6.5.1 · 25:24
Why Are Bad Folds Bigger Mistakes Than Bad Calls?
The coach answers it “with basic math”. It is the lesson most likely to change how you play rivers.
04
Lesson 6.7.4 · 1:01:34
Calling River Raises
The longest river lesson: what makes a good calling combo when someone raises you on the end.
05
Lesson 7.3.2 · 1:18:38
Turn and River as the BB in BvB 3-Bet Pots
The single longest video in the course, a solver-based walk through the later streets of BvB 3-bet pots.
06
Lesson 12.1 · 41:08
How to Review Post Session?
A full review routine, then repeated in PioSOLVER (12.2) and GTO Wizard (12.3). It turns the course into a habit.

Case study
Case Study: From NL2 Nit to Red Line Reg
The coach’s own career, reconstructed from the course transcripts.
The strongest proof in this course is not a graph; it is the coach’s own story, told across the “story time” segments in lessons 2.3, 11.5 and 11.6. We pieced it together from the transcripts because it is the exact transition the course is selling: from a showdown-dependent nit to a red line reg.
Case study · the coach’s path
NL2
24 tables of full ring, as a nit
He starts at NL2 playing a very tight, showdown-first style. At the lowest stakes the blue line graph climbs steadily.
NL25–NL50
Full ring gets harder
The regs improve; the graph is less smooth but still winning on showdown money.
6-max NL50
A million hands, ~0.5 bb/100
“I was a slave to the board.” Without made hands he bleeds, and rakeback keeps him going.
NL100
A heater, then break-even
A big run of cards, then normal variance returns and the win rate disappears again.
NL200 shots
15–20 shots, $1,000–$1,200 each
Each shot is a 5–6 buy-in budget. By his account, most are gone in the first session.
One summer
May to August, ~$10K roll
He copies the fearless regs: raising flops and turns, calling down, bluffing rivers. The red line starts to keep the graph afloat.
500NL–2kNL
The red line style holds up
It works at 500NL, 1kNL and 2kNL; at 5kNL his red line was around break-even.
The turn came when he stopped waiting for hands. In lesson 11.6 he says that he started really exploring the red line style in 2017 and 2018, and that the change spilled over into life away from the tables: more sociable, less nitty with money, more open to new things. In lesson 11.5 he adds that he dropped his HUD in mid-2019 on the advice of a higher-stakes friend and never went back.
Why this case matters to you
Aggression is often taught as if it came naturally. For thejericho2 it did not. Chapter 03 (Work Before Becoming a Red Line Player) and lesson 3.4 (Be Willing to Make Costly Mistakes) exist because he paid for that transition himself.
Transition traps
7 Mistakes When Switching to a Red Line Style
What the coach sees in students who try to become aggressive overnight.
Lesson 3.4 Be Willing to Make Costly Mistakes is unusually honest. The coach lists the mistakes he sees again and again when students move from a blue line style to a red line style. He knows them because his students make them, and because he made them himself.
- 01River bluffing frequencies set too high
- 02River calls with the wrong combos, even when the blockers look good
- 03Double barreling the turn too wide
- 04Raising the flop too aggressively and too often
- 05C-betting the flop on autopilot, especially in 3-bet pots
- 06Raising the river far more often than before
- 07Calling too wide from the blinds
“The line between a good aggressive player and a spew is quite thin.”
— thejericho2, lesson 2.1 Are Red Line Players Always Bluffing?
Notice the pattern: most of these mistakes are over-corrections. A player is told to be more aggressive and starts raising every draw. The course’s answer is frequencies and structure, from 2.1 (bluffing with a system, not on feel) to 11.4 (checking your stats after every session, week and month to tell running bad from playing bad). For more on choosing bluffs, see why you’re bluffing the wrong hands.

The coach
Who Is thejericho2?
A former full ring nit who turned himself into a mid- and high-stakes red line reg.
On camera he is direct, a little profane and openly confident: in lesson 1.1 he calls this “the best complete poker course” he knows, then adds, “You can be the judge of it.” He says he spent three to four months building it, five to eight hours a day. His working tools appear throughout: Holdem Manager 3 (with older databases in HM2 and PT4), PioSOLVER, GTO Wizard and Monker preflop ranges. In lesson 1.1 he says he grinds up to 2kNL, mostly 200NL to 1kNL, which is exactly the range of the live plays.
This is his first full course on EPG. For more Run It Once training, see our Run It Once 2026 guide and the Your Road to Midstakes review.

The others are sharper tools for a specific job: The Redline Blueprint (see our Redline Blueprint index review) if you think in exploits, Redline Ninja if you want plans against specific opponents, and Red Line Rocketship if you want a short, focused upgrade. For drills, Saulo’s Dose of Red Line is the natural companion.

Who Should Buy Red Line Mastery?
A move-up course for NLHE cash players, not a beginner’s guide.
Choose it if you…
- ✓You beat 100NL–200NL and want to move up to 500NL and 1kNL
- ✓Your blue line wins but your red line slides
- ✓You fold too often to check-raises, big bets and river raises
- ✓You want solver-based play turned into principles
- ✓You play 6-max Zoom, Rush & Cash or regular tables
Skip it if you…
- ✕You want to stay at 100NL for good (the coach says the course is not for that)
- ✕You are new and don’t know preflop charts yet
- ✕You only want a short MDA exploit list
- ✕You play MTTs or PLO rather than NLHE cash
The coach’s advice for players still at 100NL or 200NL is to start the red line style early, even if it is not the most profitable style at those stakes yet, so that you arrive at 500NL with the right game plan. If you are choosing between move-up courses, compare it with our list of the best mid-stakes cash game courses.

Our score

Why not higher? The course assumes you already know your preflop charts and can work with a solver, which is why chapter 03 exists, and the live plays are commentary sessions rather than structured lessons. Why so high? No other red line course in our catalog covers aggression, calling, rivers, blind vs blind, 4-bet pots, multiway pots, fish exploits, the mental game and review routines in one package. The overall score weights depth and value above beginner-friendliness, because this is a move-up course.
